Anne of Austria Early life, Education, Career, Awards, Achievements, Controversy, Unknown Facts

About (Profile/Biography):

Anne of Austria, a well known Queen Consort of France, was born in Spain. Through her union with Louis XIII, Anne of Austria, a Spanish princess from the House of Habsburg, rose to the position of Queen of France. She moved to France when she was 11 years old after being married, but she didn't start speaking the language until much later in life, when she was an adult. Her marriage to the King of France experienced numerous highs and lows.

Anne of Austria Legacy:

Anne was able to lead a more carefree lifestyle that included caring for her second son and visiting churches and monasteries once he was old enough to assume control of his kingdom.

Anne gained experience managing a kingdom as her five-year-old son awaited his manhood, but during her reign as regent of France, a civil war broke out in the nation. Nevertheless, she was successful in protecting Louis XIV through a particularly trying time.

The royal couple's euphoria was short-lived, though, as the king died shortly after, designating Anne as the crown's regent.

Anne initially caused a rift by failing to bear the king a son for 20 years, but it eventually got so bad that she was charged with treason.

Anne of Austria Title:

Anne was successful in moving the Benedictine convent to Paris in 1621, and she eventually took over as the convent's new foundress.

In order to express her thanks to the Virgin Mary for providing her with a son and heir, Louis XIV, following a number of stillbirths, she ordered the building of the church of Val-de-Grâce in 1645.

Anne of Austria unknown facts:

Anne adored flowers, but for some reason, she hated roses so much that she could not bear to even look at them in artwork.
