Tamil Thalaivas defeated UP Yoddha 39-33 in Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 at the Sheraton Grand, Whitefield, Bengaluru, thanks to a flawless performance by the raiders and defenders.
Thalaivas raider Manjeet and substitute Ajinkya Pawar were excellent, while defenders Sagar and Surjeet Singh backed them well.
Surender Gill scored 14 points for UP Yoddha, who could not match Tamil Thalaivas’ effort on the night.
First Half
The first half belonged entirely to the yellow team. The Thalaivas dominated the mat, with Manjeet, K. Prapanjan, and Bhavani Rajput scoring quickly.
Nitesh Kumar and Sumit, Yoddha’s legendary corner duo, battled against the lanky Tamil raiders. Pardeep Narwal, on the other hand, had another poor game again, moving carefully and being easily trapped by the opponents.
Second Half
Kabaddi is a game of sharp margins, and the momentum unexpectedly turned to Yoddha early in the second half. Super Tackles from Ashu Singh and Shubham Kumar suddenly reduced the Thalaivas’ lead.
Thalaivas coach Uday Kumar brought in Ajinkya Pawar, and his rapid points put pressure on Yoddha. With 4 minutes remaining, Sagar earned his High 5 in defense as Thalaivas secured their second ALL OUT. They built an 8-point advantage in the final minutes, but Pardeep narwal’s 3-point Super Raid reduces the lead to five points in the last minute. Yoddha received at least one point as a result of the raid. Pardeep Narwal makes a personal best of 1200 raid points in PKL.
