    Novak Djokovic was born in SR Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia, on May 22, 1987. He is a professional tennis player. Djokovic ranked No. 1 in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals.

    He has held the No.1 ranking for 354 weeks, won the ATP Year-End No.1 title seven times, and has a Joint Grand Slam men’s singles record of 20 titles, including a record of nine Australian open victories.

    Career

    In 2003, Djokovic began his professional career. At the 2008 Australians Open, he broke Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal’s 11-Year Grand Slam winning streak by winning his maiden Grand Slam championship at 20.

    Djokovic was ranked No. 1 for the first time in 2011 after winning three of the four majors and a season-high five Masters Events. For the rest of the decade, he was the best player in men’s tennis, leading the tour in major and Masters Titles and won four of his five ATP Finals titles in a row from 2012 to 2015.

    Achievements

    Djokovic led the Serbian national team to their maiden Davis Cup championship in 2010 and the inaugural ATP Cup title in 2020 while representing Serbia. He also represented Serbia at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, winning a bronze medal.

    Djokovic has received four Laureus World Sportsman of the Year awards (2012, 2015, 2016, and 2019) and the L’Équipe Champion of Champions title in 2021.
