Mary Jane Oliver was born in the year 1935. She was one of the known merican poet who won the National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize for her work inspired by nature. She began writing poetry at the age of 14 and went on to publish numerous collections of poems, including American Primitive and New and Selected Poems. Oliver worked as a secretary for the sister of Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Edna St. Vincent Millay and was a Poet in Residence at Bucknell University. She passed away in 2019 at the age of 83.
