Shikhar Dhawan is a cricketer from India. He performs opening batsman roles for Delhi during first-class cricket and Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League. He also occasionally bowls off break with his right arm. Dhawan was India's top run-scorer at the 2015 World Cup, 2013 Champions Trophy, and 2017 Champions Trophy. He also made history by becoming the first IPL player to ever score two consecutive centuries. In 2013, he won the title "Player of the Tournament" at the ICC Champions Trophy. At an ODI match in Visakhapatnam in October 2010, Dhawan started his career against Australia.
Career:
In 1999: He played his first game for Delhi Under-16s during the Vijay Merchant Trophy season.
In 2002: Dhawan was chosen once more for the Delhi Under-19 side in the Cooch Behar Trophy. He scored 388 runs from 8 games at an average of 55.42, including two hundreds.
In 2004: During the season of the Ranji Trophy, Dhawan scored 49 on his debut for Delhi against Andhra.
In 2010: Dhawan was selected in the 14-man squad for the three-match ODI series versus Australia, which was his first appearance in an Indian senior team.
In 2022: His name was announced as the captain for India's away ODI series against West Indies.
