Jeremy Lalrinnunga is a weightlifter hails from Aizawl, Mizoram. In 2018, he represented India at the Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires. He won the boys' 62 kg weightlifting gold medal with a lift of 274 kg (124 kg in snatch and 150 kg in clean and jerk). India had just won its first gold medal at the Youth Olympics. At the Asian weightlifting championships, Jeremy earned a silver medal. In the 2019 World Weightlifting Championships, Lalrinnunga finished 21st in the Men's 67 kg class. He won gold in the 67 kg division of the Commonwealth Games in 2022 after lifting 140 kg in the snatch and 160 kg in the clean and jerk.

In 2018: He competed for India at the Buenos Aires Summer Youth Olympics in 2018.

In 2019: Lalrinnunga placed 21st in the Men's 67 kg competition at the 2019 World Weightlifting Championships.

In 2019: Lalrinnunga enlisted in the Indian army and was assigned to the 17th Battalion of the Brigade of the Guards as a Naib Subedar.

In 2021: He won the gold in the Men’s Commonwealth Championships.

In 2022: With lifts of 140 kg in the scrape and 160 kg in the clean and jerk, he took gold in the 67 kg division in the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Achievements and Awards:

He won the gold in the Boy’s 62 kg category in the Buenos Aires Summer Youth Olympics.

Lalrinnunga got the silver medal in the Asian Weightlifting Championship in Boy’s 62 kg category.

Unknown Facts:

Due to his precarious financial condition, Jeremy was unable to pursue his aspirations. He had no choice but to begin working as a contract labourer for the neighbourhood Public Works Department (PWD).

Thus began Jeremy's path to become a professional weightlifter. He began learning weightlifting by balancing bamboo poles that were 5 metres long and 20 millimetres diameter.
