Jeremy Lalrinnunga is a weightlifter hails from Aizawl, Mizoram. In 2018, he represented India at the Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires. He won the boys' 62 kg weightlifting gold medal with a lift of 274 kg (124 kg in snatch and 150 kg in clean and jerk). India had just won its first gold medal at the Youth Olympics. At the Asian weightlifting championships, Jeremy earned a silver medal. In the 2019 World Weightlifting Championships, Lalrinnunga finished 21st in the Men's 67 kg class. He won gold in the 67 kg division of the Commonwealth Games in 2022 after lifting 140 kg in the snatch and 160 kg in the clean and jerk.

Due to his precarious financial condition, Jeremy was unable to pursue his aspirations. He had no choice but to begin working as a contract labourer for the neighbourhood Public Works Department (PWD).
Thus began Jeremy's path to become a professional weightlifter. He began learning weightlifting by balancing bamboo poles that were 5 metres long and 20 millimetres diameter.
