He was a UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball team member during his college years. The Phoenix Suns signed Jones in September 2016 after he went undrafted in the 2016 NBA draft. The Miami Heat reached the 2020 NBA Finals with him as a member. The Portland Trail Blazers signed him in November 2020. The Bulls acquired Jones in August 2021.
