Brian Charles Lara is one of the best cricketers, born on 2nd May 1969. He is a Trinidadian former international cricketer. In 1994, he scored the only quintuple-hundred in first-class cricket history for Warwickshire against Durham at Edgbaston, the greatest individual first-class score in history. As a Test batsman, he also topped the rankings several times.
Career:
1987: Brian Charles scored 498 runs in the West Indies Youth Championships, shattering Carl Hooper's previous record of 480 runs.
1988: First-Class debut against Leeward Islands in the Red Stripe Cup.
1989: Brian Charles scored 145 while leading a West Indies B Team in Zimbabwe.
1990: Lara became the youngest-ever captain of Trinidad and Tobago at the age of 20, and he helped his team win the one-day Geddes Grant Shield that year. He also made his delayed West Indies Test debut against Pakistan in 1990. One month before, he had played against Pakistan in his first ODI.
1993: In Sydney, Lara scored 277 runs in Australia. West Indies won the remaining two Tests to take the series 2-1 thanks to this player's first Test century in his fifth match. After scoring 277 at SCG, Lara went on to give his daughter the name Sydney.
1994: Scored 501 not out for Warwickshire against Durham. The highest in First-Class cricket.
2004: Scored 400 for West Indies against England. The highest in international cricket matches.
2004: Lara was included in the World Test XI and ODI XI by ICC.
2005: Due to a conflicting sponsorship agreement between his own Cable & Wireless and Digicel, the primary sponsor of the Cricket Board, Lara declined to be named to the West Indies team.
2006: He was one of just two players at the time, along with Sachin Tendulkar, to reach 10,000 runs in both forms of the game for the West Indies One Day International team.
2014: He participated in the Lord's Bicentennial Celebration game for the MCC team.
2021: The Sunrisers Hyderabad appointed Lara as batting coach and strategic advisor for the IPL 2022 season.
