Patrick Lavon Mahomes was born on September 17, 1995 in Tyler, Texas. He is an American football quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Texas Tech University, where he was a two-time finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award as well as a first-team All-Big 12 selection by the Associated Press and the conference coaches as a junior. After being drafted by the Chiefs in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Mahomes was named the NFL Rookie of the Year and earned Pro Bowl and First-team All-Pro honors.
