Frank Donald Drake was born on 28 May, 1930. He was an American astrophysicist and astrobiologist. Frank Donald Drake started his career as a radio astronomer, made their study at the planets of the solar system and later on pulsars. Frank Donald Drake started to expanding his interest in search of extraterrestrial communication with the newly project ozma. In the year 1960, he developed the drake equation which is used to quantify the number of intelligent life forms and working with Carl Sagan, he helps in designing a first physical message flown beyond the solar system , pioneer plague.

• In 1951, after receiving the lecture from astrophysist Otto Struve, his idea about the possibility of extraterrestrial life was reinforced.
• After completing the B.A. in engineering physics, he served himself as the electronic officer at the heavy cruiser USS Albany.
