Mark Victor Hansen is an American author, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur. Hansen is best known as the co-creator of Chicken Soup. Victor was born in 1948 in Waukegan, Illinois. He attended Southern Illinois University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree.

After college, Hansen began his career as a speaker and sales trainer, and in 1974, he co-founded Hansen, Seale & Associates, a training company focused on sales and entrepreneurship. 

In 1993, Hansen and co-author Jack Canfield published the first Chicken Soup for the Soul book, which became a bestseller and launched a popular book series.

Hansen has authored and co-authored several other books, including The Aladdin Factor, The Power of Focus, and You Have a Book in You.
