Douglas Craig Emhoff was born on October 13, 1964. In addition to being an American lawyer, he is also the second gentleman of the United States. It is said that he is married to Kamala Harris, who is the 49th vice president of the United States. In American history, Emhoff was the first and second gentleman to be married to a vice president. A Jewish spouse of a vice president has also been found for the first time. As an entertainment lawyer, Emhoff began his career.
Career:
Emhoff began his career in Pillsbury Winthrop's litigation group as an entertainment litigator. In the late 1990s, he joined Belin Rawlings & Badal, a boutique law firm.
In 2000: Douglas Craig Emhoff co-founded a law firm with Ben Whitwell, which Venable LLP acquired in 2006.
In 2017: Emhoff became a partner at DLA Piper, with offices in Washington, D.C., and California.
It was announced in December 2020 that Emhoff would become a distinguished visitor at Georgetown University Law Center.
2021: Emhoff began teaching at Georgetown University Law Center a course on "Entertainment Law Disputes" in March 2021 while Second Gentleman.
