Adam Silver, a well-known American lawyer, was born in 1962, in New York. Adam attended Rye High School and then earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University in 1984 and a law degree from the University of Chicago in 1988.

Adam Silver Early Career:

Silver started his career as a law clerk for Judge Kimba Wood of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. He then worked as an associate at the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore before joining the NBA in 1992 as the special assistant to the commissioner.

After serving in various roles within the NBA, Silver was named the deputy commissioner and chief operating officer in 2006. He became the NBA commissioner in 2014, succeeding David Stern.
