• In 1958, he was born to a Roman Catholic family in Naucalpan's Bosques de Echegaray neighborhood, a suburb of Mexico City. His father was an architect. His schooling was Catholic, and he claims the priests abused him.
• Jorge Ramos graduated with a degree in communications from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. Ramos holds a Master's degree in International Studies from the University of Miami. His honorary doctorate in letters was conferred by the University of Richmond in 2007.
