Banda Singh Bahadur was born on 27 October 1670 and died on 9 June 1716. The Sikh military leader founded Lohgarh in present-day Haryana as the capital of a Sikh state. After assembling an army in Kaithal, Banda Singh Bahadur marched towards Khanda, according to his teacher Guru Gobind Singh. He continued his struggle against the Mughal Empire after defeating Wazir Khan's army in the 'Battle of Samana' (1709).
