About (Profile/Biography):

John Snow, a well-known British physician, was born in England. As one of the pioneers of contemporary epidemiology, John Snow was a British anesthesiologist and physician. He is best known for his efforts to locate the cause of a cholera outbreak in London. He then earned his medical license in 1836, specialized in anesthesia, and rose to prominence in the industry. In addition to his work as a doctor, Snow also carried out studies on various subjects, such as disease transmission and the effect of anesthesia.

John Snow Career:

In a research he undertook during the 1854 cholera epidemic, Snow plotted the locations of the cases and determined that a water supply source on Broad Street was the outbreak's origin.

Snow persuaded the authorities to remove the pump's handle, significantly lowering the number of new cholera cases.

Snow's investigation into the cholera epidemic was innovative and is regarded as a model case study of epidemiological investigation.

Snow also developed the "ghost map" to trace the spread of cholera and made other significant contributions to the science of epidemiology, such as using stats in disease investigation.
