Derek Hough was born in 1985 in Utah, USA. His father was twice chosen to lead the "Utah Republican Party." He practised karate, acrobatics, football, and basketball as a kid. His mother introduced him to the great arts.
When his parents divorced when he was twelve years old, he was taken to London to train ballroom dancing with Shirley and Corky Ballas.
