A Japanese author and illustrator known as Satoshi Kako was an educator who combined his engineering and scientific background with his storytelling skills in order to create educational works for young children. A chemical engineer by trade, he was born on March 31, 1926, in Fukui Prefecture. After training as a chemist, he became an engineer by training in chemical engineering. In addition to the popular series of "Kako Satoshi Story Books" and "Daruma-chan" books that Kako made, he produced over 600 other items. A
