Released in 2019, Pixar’s Toy Story 4 follows Woody and the other toys after Andy has given them to Bonnie. The film takes the familiar Toy Story idea of toys finding purpose through the children they love and gives Woody a new question to face: what happens when being there for one child no longer feels like the only possible future?Show More
Bonnie makes a new craft project at school using a spork, pipe-cleaner arms, and other materials. She names her creation Forky, becomes attached to him, and treats him as a treasured toy. Forky, however, believes he belongs in the rubbish bin. Woody feels responsible for keeping Forky safe because he understands how important the new toy is to Bonnie, even when the task becomes exhausting.
During a family road trip, Forky’s repeated attempts to escape lead Woody away from the others and into an adventure that changes his outlook. Woody reunites with Bo Peep, who has spent years outside a child’s room and learned to live independently. Resourceful and confident, Bo sees the world as a place full of choices. Her perspective challenges Woody’s belief that a toy’s life must always revolve around staying with one child.
The adventure also brings the toys to an antique shop, where they meet Gabby Gabby, a doll who hopes to repair her voice box and finally find a child who will love her. Meanwhile, Buzz Lightyear tries to understand his decisions by following what he calls his inner voice. The story blends comic misunderstandings and daring rescues with emotional questions about friendship, belonging, loyalty, and change.
