Jorge González was born on January 31st, 1966 and died on September 22nd, 2010. In addition to being a professional wrestler and actor, he was an Argentine basketball player who made his debut with El Gigante, the ring name he used in the World Championship Wrestling under which he competed between 1989 and 1992, as well as Giant Gonzalez under which he competed in the World Wrestling Federation in 1993. Aside from being the tallest Argentine to have ever lived, González also holds the record for being the third tallest South American ever.
Career:
1985: During the 1985 South American Basketball Championship, León Najnudel included González as part of the Argentine national team in the gold medal game.
1988: After participating in the 1988 NBA draft, González was selected by the Atlanta Hawks as the 54th pick in the draft's third round.
1989: As a professional wrestler, González was offered a job by Hawks owner Ted Turner in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), which Turner owned in 1989.
1993: The role played by González in a 1993 episode of Baywatch was Manny, a carnival sideshow giant who was not afraid of anything.
Additionally, González appeared in the 1993 and 1994 double-episode versions of Thunder in Paradise, which was turned into a film.
In 1994: González made a brief appearance in Hercules in the Underworld as Eryx the Boxer.
