Tony Ferguson was born in California and is most well-known as a professional mixed martial artist. He first started wrestling while still in school and college, which eventually led him to drop out and move to the west coast. That’s where he got his nickname El Cucuy and began his MMA career. Tony also trained under some of the biggest names in the sport, even creating his own unique training techniques that helped with his strength and agility. He returned back home in 2007 to be closer to his extended family. However, before finishing his degree he worked as a salesman in the morning and a bartender at night.

Career:

Additionally, from 2000 to 2002, Tony was chosen three times for the MHSAA Division IV All-State Championship.

Tony Ferguson started his professional MMA career in 2007 by competing in local Californian clubs.

Tony defeated Steve Avalos in an event put on by California Xtreme Fighting: Anarchy at the Arena in 2008 to earn his first professional victory.

Tony's first significant victory came in a 2008 Total Fighting Alliance event in Long Beach, where he defeated kickboxing champion, Joe Schilling.

Tony lost to Karen Darabedyan in an All-Star Boxing: Caged in the Cannon match staged in Montebello in 2009, marking his first professional defeat.

Achievements and Awards:

In 2022, he had a total of 32 appearances, and out of those, he won 25 games. With his performance, he was also awarded lots of incentives.
