Tomiyasu Takehiro was born on the 5th of November 1998 in Tokyo, Japan. He is a Japanese professional footballer who plays as a center-back or a full-back for the Premier League club Arsenal and the Japan national football team. In 2021, Tomiyasu joined Arsenal from the Japanese club Avispa Fukuoka. Prior to that, he had stints with Belgian club Sint-Truiden as well as Italian club Bologna. It was also announced that he had been called up to the senior team of Japan in 2018, having previously played for different youth teams across the country.
Career:
2014: It was announced in August 2014 that Tomiyasu would be selected for the Japan U16 squad ahead of this year's AFC U-16 Championship in Thailand. The Japanese U16 team was eliminated from the tournament in the quarter-finals after making two appearances in the tournament.
2014: For the first time in his career, Tomiyasu was called up to the Japan U17 team in July 2014. Throughout the course of 2015, he was able to participate in a number of matches for the side.
2015: Tomiyasu Takehiro made his debut in the Emperor's Cup for the club on 14 October 2015. He started the whole game as the team was defeated 2–0 by Machida Zelvia.
2017: Tomiyasu was named to the Japanese U-20 national team in May 2017, and he was in South Korea to compete in the 2017 World U-20 Championship. During the entire match, he made his debut as a starter for the Japan U20 team.
In December 2018, Tomiyasu was recalled for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, which will take place in Japan. As part of his tournament debut, he started the whole game for the national team and helped Japan to win 3–2 against Turkmenistan in the final.
2018: Tomiyasu was called up for the first time for the Kirin Challenge Cup 2018 on the 30th of August 2018.
