Rohit Sharma is an Indian cricketer who competes for his nation in international cricket. Rohit represents Mumbai in domestic first-class cricket. For the Indian cricket team's limited-overs matches, Rohit currently serves as vice captain. In the Indian Premier League, he now serves as the team's captain for the Mumbai Indians. At the age of 20, when he began his career, he soon won accolades for his composed and experienced performance. However, throughout his early career, a hard patch and an unfortunate injury had cut short both his ODI run and his Test debut. After being promoted to the opening position, he particularly excelled in the limited-over formats.

In 2007, Rohit Sharma participated in his first ODI match at Belfast against Ireland, however he was not given the opportunity to bat.
