Kumara Chokshananda Sangakkara, a well-known cricketer, was born in Sri Lanka. The left-handed, miraculous batsman and outstanding wicketkeeper served as the backbone of the Sri Lankan national side till his retirement. Kumara was perhaps one of the most sound batsmen and great wicket-keepers of the 21st century. His enduring form and never-say-die mentality allowed him to achieve several feats that are highly significant on a global scale. Sangakkara was gifted in many different areas since he was little.
Career:
Kumara's statistics speak for themselves, as he collected a staggering total of 14,235 and 12,400 runs in 404 ODIs and 134 Test matches, respectively
Against South Africa in the same series, Kumara played his first test. After going out in the 90s twice, he finally made his debut Test century in the ninth match.
Sangakkara quickly developed into a charming batsman with access to practically every cricket hit.
In the final of the second Asian Test Championship in 2002, Kumara hit his first double-century against Pakistan.
