Darwin Gabriel Núñez Ribeiro was born on June 24, 1999. His nationality is Uruguayan, and he is a professional footballer for the Premier League club Liverpool and the Uruguayan national team. It was through Pearol's youth academy, that Nez came to be promoted to Pearol's first team in 2017. For a club record fee of €15 million, he joined Segunda División club Almera (Spain) in August 2019. A club-record transfer of €24 million was paid for his acquisition by Benfica in 2020, making him one of the most expensive signings in Portuguese football history.
