Ao Tanaka, one of the top football players, was born on September 10, 1998. In addition to playing for Fortuna Düsseldorf and the Japanese national team, he is also a Japanese professional footballer. Tanaka has been raised by Kawasaki Frontale's youth system for a decade and made his J1 League debut against Consadole Sapporo in September 2018. He even scored his first professional goal six minutes after playing for the team.

Career:
2018: After growing up playing in the youth ranks of Kawasaki Frontale in his hometown, Tanaka made his J1 League debut against Consadole Sapporo on September 1, 2018.
2019: In the 2019 EAFF E-1 Football Championship, in which Japan played against Hong Kong in a 5-0 victory, Tanaka made his debut for the national football team of Japan on December 14, 2019.
June 26, 2021: On this date, Ao Tanaka joined German after two and a half seasons with Kawasaki Frontale. A year-long loan agreement with an option to buy has been signed with German Bundesliga club Fortuna Düsseldorf.
2021: He was selected for the 22-man Japanese Olympic team that will participate in the 2020 Olympic Games alongside Kaoru Mitoma and Reo Hatate, two of his ex-teammates from Kawasaki Frontale, in the summer of 2021. During the tournament, he was the starting midfielder in every match the Japanese team played.
2022: Having gained great satisfaction with both his club and national team performances, Fortuna Düsseldorf exercised the buy-out option in his club contract to acquire him on April 28, 2022. 
2022: It was during the AFC Qualifying tournament for the 2022 FIFA World Cup that he made his debut, scoring his first international goal against the Australian team at home on October 12, 2021.
During the 21st FIFA World Cup, Tanaka was included in a 26-man squad that was announced on November 1, 2022.
