Achinta Sheuli is a weightlifter from India who competes in the 73 kg weight division. As part of the 2022 Commonwealth Games, he won gold as well as setting a new Games record of 313 kg. He performed a snatch lift of 143 kg (a games record and a personal record) and a clean and jerk lift of 170 kg. In addition to winning two gold medals at the Commonwealth Championships, he received a silver medal at the 2021 Junior World Weightlifting Championships.
Career:
In 2011: He started weightlifting while attending Deulpur High School.
In 2013: In the 50kg weight class, he was the winner of the Junior National weightlifting tournament.
In 2014: Achinta was granted admission to the Army Sports Institute in Pune.
In 2021: He won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships in the 73 kg category.
In 2022: Achinta got the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games in the 73 kg category.

Sheuli placed first in 50 kg weightlifting contests at the junior national level in 2013, earning a place in the Army Sports Institute in Pune the next year (2014).
Achinta made history by becoming the first Indian to earn a silver medal at the Junior World Championship.
