Jennie Kim, one of the most famous singers in South Korea, was born on January 16, 1996. In addition to singing, rapping, and acting, she is known mononymously as Jennie. In 2010, Jennie returned to South Korea after studying in New Zealand for five years. In August 2016, she made her debut with YG Entertainment's girl group Blackpink. After releasing her first solo single, "Solo", Jennie made her debut as a solo artist. In addition to topping the Gaon Digital Chart, the song topped the Billboard World Digital Songs chart.

Career:

2012: The official blog of YG Entertainment introduced Jennie through a photo titled "Who's that girl?".

2013: YG released another video, featuring Jennie Kim covering Wale's "Lotus Flower Bomb".

2016: YG Entertainment revealed Jennie as the first member of its newest girl group, after seven long years since 2NE1.

2018: Running Man featured Jennie and Blackpink member Jisoo.

2019: During Coachella, Jennie performed for the first time as a solo artist from Korea. Billboard named her performance one of "The 10 Best Things We Saw at Coachella 2019,"

Earlier this year, Jennie announced that The Idol would mark her Hollywood (and acting) debut in 2022
