Arijit Singh is an Indian playback singer and music programmer, born in West Bengal, to a Bengali father and a Punjabi mother. He started learning music at home because his maternal aunt is skilled in Indian classical music and his maternal grandma liked to sing. He shares the tabla with his maternal uncle. He also picked up musical skills from his mother, a singer and tabla player. He attended the University of Kalyani associate Sripat Singh College and Raja Bijay Singh High School for his academics. Singh claimed that although he "was a fair student," his music interests predominated. His parents decided to put him through a professional training programme because of his musical affinity.
Career:
In 2005: While in college, he took part in the TV reality series Fame Gurukul, which launched his career as a playback singer.
In 2011: with the song "Phir Mohabbat" from Murder 2, Singh made his Bollywood musical debut. He released Agent Vinod's song "Raabta" that same year.
In 2013: Arijit’s debut came in the movie Aashiqui 2, where he played a lead and important vocal role.
In 2015: The song "Neeye Vaazhkai Enbena" from the movie Pugazh marked Singh's debut in the Tamil language.
In 2017: Arijit sang a duet called "Zaalima" for Shah Rukh Khan.
In 2019: His song "Ve Maahi" featuring Asees Kaur from the movie Kesari was released in March. By July 2019, the song had 200 million views on YouTube. He performed Pritam's "Khairiyat" from the movie Chhichhore.
In 2022: Singh also performed "Kesariya" from the Brahmstra movie.
Achievements and Awards:
Arijit received nine awards out of ten nominations for "Tum Hi Ho".
Arijit won the Best Male Playback Singer for the song "Binte Dil”.

Arijit founded the nonprofit organization "Let There Be Light," which assists the underprivileged.
