About (Profile/Biography):
J. Robert Oppenheimer, a well-known American theoretical physicist, was born in New York City. He belonged to the Phi Beta Kappa fraternity, where Percy Bridgman's lectures on thermodynamics served as a career-changing inspiration for him. He was the first scientist to identify black holes but lacked the perseverance to see his hypothesis through to the end. If Oppenheimer had lived and had the fortitude to wait for an experiment to confirm his hypothesis, he would have received the Nobel Prize for his work on neutrons and black holes, according to Nobel Prize-winning scientist Luis Alvarez.
J. Robert Oppenheimer Career:
Oppenheimer joined Harvard a year later than expected, at 18, due to a colitis-related illness.
Oppenheimer developed the "Oppenheimer-Phillips process" in 1935 in collaboration with physicist Melba Philips; it is still in use today.
According to a completed arrangement, Oppenheimer would be granted a six-week release, or the equivalent of one semester, to teach at Caltech.
Oppenheimer wrote a paper titled "On Continued Gravitational Attraction" in 1939 that foretold the formation of black holes. The paper didn't provide enough clarification, though.
J. Robert Oppenheimer Achievements and Awards:
Oppenheimer was urged to reduce his professorship at Caltech University when he was asked to limit his appointment as a full-time professor at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in 1936.
Oppenheimer was a three-time nominee for the Nobel Prize, a political supporter of Leftist Communities, and a Sanskrit language enthusiast.
Oppenheimer was a persistent man determined to make up for his lost years by enrolling in six classes per term to utilize his time in college fully.
