Jeff Koons was born on 21st January 1955. He creates sculptures depicting everyday objects, such as balloon animals, in stainless steel with mirror-finish surfaces that deal with popular culture. Currently, he lives and works in New York City and his hometown of York, Pennsylvania. As a living artist, he sold several works for substantial sums, including Balloon Dog (Orange) in 2013 and Rabbit in 2019, for US$58.4 million and US$91.1 million, respectively.

Jeff Koons Early Works And Inflatables
• Jeff Koons created four separate artworks between 1977 and 1979, which he later called Early Works.
• Jeff Koons began working on his Inflatables series in 1978, consisting of inflatable flowers and a rabbit of various heights and colors positioned alongside mirrors.

• Jeff Koons has produced a series of works since 1979. His early works featured the Pre-New, a series of domestic objects attached to light fixtures.

• Sculptures using inflatable toys were created by Koons starting in the 1970s. Koons cast a readymade inflatable rabbit in highly polished stainless steel, resulting in Rabbit (1986). The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, owns Rabbit, originally part of Ileana Sonnabend's private collection.
