About (Profile/Biography):
Stewart Armstrong Copeland was born on July 16, 1952. Composer and musician, he comes from a Scottish background. During 1977-86, he contributed to the English rock band the Police as a drummer, and from 2007-2008, he returned to the band as a drummer. His first association with the Police was playing drums with the English rock band Curved Air during the 1975-76 period. In the months following Copeland's birth, the family moved to Cairo. A community school called the American Community School was his first school when he was five years old. 
Stewart Copeland Career:
In 1975 and 1976, Copeland worked as a drummer for the progressive rock band Curved Air, and was the band's road manager during its 1974 reunion tour.
A top band in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Police were formed by Copeland with Sting and Henry Padovani (who was then replaced by Andy Summers). Among the band's members, Copeland was its youngest.
An album called Music and Rhythm was produced by Copeland in 1982. 
His music was composed in 1993 for Channel 4's Horse Opera directed by Bob Baldwin.
The animated war comedy South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999) featured him as an additional American soldier.
As part of the Spyro the Dragon soundtrack, he was commissioned by Insomniac Games in 1998.
A track he produced for Primus' Antipop album was also produced with Les Claypool. He teamed up with Trey Anastasio of Phish to form Oysterhead in 2000.
A commissioned piece by the Music Society, "Retail Therapy," was presented by Copeland at SummerFest 2009.
Stewart Copeland Career:
As part of Copeland's hobbies, he roller skates, cycles along Santa Monica's beach, makes films and plays polo.
Additionally, he uploads videos on his YouTube channel of jam sessions in his studio, the Sacred Grove, during which he performs with other musicians.
