Sam Farrar was born on June 29, 1978, and is an American musician. His most notable role has been playing bass guitar for the pop rock band Maroon 5. The band has been associated with him since the 1990s when he joined as a touring member. He became a full member in 2016. Phantom Planet was formed in 1994, and he has been its bassist ever since. He is married to Stephanie Eitel, formerly of the band Agent Sparks. They have two children: Vesper Pearl Farrar, born on August 6, 2009, and Flynn Roscoe Farrar, born on January 14, 2014.

1994–2012:  Sam Farrar plays bass guitar for Phantom Planet, an American rock band. As a member of Maroon 5 and Gomez's Operation Aloha, he also contributes to the band. In addition, his wife, Stephanie, and he have started Bubble and Strife, a music project.
2012: The first time Farrar filled in for Mickey Madden since 2001 occurred at a Show in Argentina during the Overexposed Tour on August 31, 2012. He subsequently filled in for Madden at the remaining shows.
2012–Present: Sam Farrar joined Maroon 5 in 2012, playing guitars, occasional bass guitars, percussion, additional keyboards, singing backing vocals, and providing samples (using the MPC).
