Quincy Jones is an American musician who was born in Illinois, U.S. He’s a man of many talents, and lives out his days working as a composer, conductor, record producer, film and TV producer, and just overall musician. After working for Barclay Records in Paris he started writing music for some of the biggest names in the business. Soon after he decided to start his own business, Qwest Productions and Quincy Jones Entertainment.

Jones toured Europe in the 1950s with several jazz ensembles.
Jones was elevated to vice-president of Mercury in 1961, making him the first African American to fill that role.
He established Qwest Productions in 1975, and for this company, he produced and orchestrated the successful recordings by Frank Sinatra.
