Johannes Brahms was one of the great pianists who was born in 1833. He was a known composer of the Romantic era. Johannes Brahms Early Career: In 1848, Brahms began his career as a pianist in dance halls and restaurants in Hamburg.
1850-1853: Brahms meets and forms a close friendship with Robert Schumann and his wife Clara. Robert Schumann becomes an important mentor for Brahms.
1853: Brahms begins to focus on composition and begins work on his First Symphony, and in 1862, Brahms becomes the director of the Sing-Akademie in Vienna.
1868: Brahms' First Symphony premiered in Karlsruhe, Germany.
1872: Brahms becomes the conductor of the Vienna Philharmonic and in 1873 Brahms' Second Symphony is premiered in Vienna.
1876: Brahms' First Piano Concerto premiered in Boston, Massachusetts where in 1881 Brahms' Third Symphony is premiered in Vienna.
Johannes Brahms’ Fourth Symphony: In 1889, Brahms' Fourth Symphony premiered in Meiningen, Germany.
Johannes Brahms’ Last Composition: In1891, Brahms completes his last composition, the Clarinet Sonatas.
