George Thorogood is an American musician and singer-songwriter known for his high-energy blues rock and hits such as "Bad to the Bone".  George Thorogood has been a mainstay of the blues rock scene for over four decades, known for his fiery guitar playing, gravelly voice, and catchy songs. He has inspired countless musicians with his signature style, and his hits continue to be played on classic rock radio today. 

George Thorogood Early Life and Career:

George Lawrence Thorogood was born on February 24, 1950, in Wilmington, Delaware. He began playing guitar in his teens and formed his first band, The Delaware Destroyers, in the early 1970s. They started playing small clubs and bars, gradually building a following in the Mid-Atlantic region.

George Thorogood Rise to Fame and Success:

In 1977, Thorogood and The Delaware Destroyerss signed a record deal with Rounder Records and released their debut album, "George Thorogood and The Delaware Destroyers". 

Their breakthrough came with their next album, "Move It On Over" (1978), which included a cover of Hank Williams' classic song of the same name. The album went gold and led to national attention for the band.

Over the next few years, Thorogood and his band continued to release successful albums and tour extensively, earning a reputation for their high-energy live performances. Hits such as "Bad to the Bone" and "I Drink Alone" cemented Thorogood's status as a blues rock icon.

George Thorogood Later Career and Legacy:

Thorogood's success continued into the 1990s and 2000s, with more albums and tours, although he never quite reached the same level of commercial success as in the 1980s. He has also acted in films such as "Maverick" and "The Simpsons", as well as appearing in various documentaries and TV shows.
