Chris Shiflett was born May 6, 1971, in New York City. His most well-known position is the front guitarist for the rock band Foo Fighters in America. He has performed with the Foo Fighters and the Gimmes since 1999, among other projects. In addition, he hosted a podcast called Walking the Floor and released a solo album in 2019. Shiflett is the younger brother of Scott Shiflett, who has played bass in the punk rock band Face to Face since 1995. In 2021, the Foo Fighters gave him a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.

Chris Shiflett began his career in another band called Lost Kittenz with current Sugarcult members. After that, a punk rock band from the Bay Area called No Use for a Name hired him as its lead guitarist.
