Bismillah Khan is a well-known Indian musician born in Oklahoma, Bihar. Ustad Bismillah Khan was a renowned shehnai player from India. He popularized the shehnai, a musical instrument, throughout India after independence, and his name was and will always be associated with it. Additionally, he appeared in the 1958 film Jalsaghar by Satyajit Ray. At 6, Khan was relocated to the Uttar Pradesh city of Varanasi, where he received musical tuition from his uncle Ali Baksh, a well-known shehnai player. The latter had performed for Varanasi's Vishwanath Temple.

Career:
Khan also has a solid connection to the movie industry.
Khan performed lovely shehnai symphonies for the Kannada film Sadaadi Appanna.
Khan frequently performed for worldwide audiences in addition to his Indian audience.
Khan participated in the World Expo in Montreal, the Osaka Trade Fair, and the Cannes Art Festival.
In 1937, Khan elevated Shehnai to the forefront of Indian classical music through his performance at the All India Music Conference.
In 1950, he performed once more at Red Fort in Delhi in honor of India's first Republic Day.

Achievements and Awards:
Bismillah helped the shehnai become one of the most well-known Asian musical instruments.
Khan was invited to perform live in the Red Fort in Delhi by Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Indian Prime Minister, on the occasion of India's first celebration of independence day in 1947.

Unknown facts:
The Indian Army presented a 21-gun salute at his funeral as a mark of national pride.
