Toobin attended the exclusive Ethical Culture Fieldston School while growing up in New York City. He later enrolled at Harvard University, where in 1982 he received a magna cum laude Bachelor of Arts in American History. In Harvard Law School, Toobin continued his education, receiving his Juris Doctor in 1986.
Jeffrey Toobin’s Career
Once he got out of law school, Toobin started working as a legal assistant for Judge Thurgood Marshall and then moved his way up to a federal court in Brooklyn. Later on in 1993, he became a writer for The New Yorker. There he wrote countless articles about judicial cases and topics that have become popular over time. He also provided legal analysis for a good amount of television networks like CNN and ABC News. In 2016, one of his books “The Run of His Life: The People v. O. J. Simpson” was adapted into the TV series "American Crime Story: The People v. O. J. Simpson".
Jeffrey Toobin Controversy When he was discovered masturbating on a Zoom call with his coworkers from The New Yorker and WNYC radio in October 2020, Toobin made news. He immediately received a suspension from his position and left CNN. He later expressed regret for his actions, and in June 2021, he was given his old positions back at CNN and The New Yorker.
