Lester Don Holt Jr. is a journalist from America who serves as the news host for Dateline NBC and the daily edition of NBC Nightly News. On June 18, 2015, Holt was chosen to serve as NBC Nightly News' permanent anchor following the dismissal of Brian Williams. Max Robinson, an ABC News nightly co-anchor, was a role model for Holt, who later made history by becoming the first African-American to solo-anchor a weekday network show. In a 2018 survey, Holt was rated as America's most dependable TV news anchor.
