John DeLorean, a well-known American engineer, was born in Detroit, Michigan. He is well known for founding the "DeLorean Motor Company" and his work at "General Motors." He lived the life of a movie star while designing iconic vehicles like the "Pontiac GTO." However, when his business ran up massive debts, he attempted to save it illegally and was ultimately accused of trafficking cocaine. Even though he was declared "not guilty," his fortune and reputation had already been ruined. However, he is still remembered as a significant but divisive public personality and as the designer of the car later modified and used in the well-known film "Back to the Future."
Career:
He received a $14,000 salary offer from Packard Motor Company in 1953.
In 1956, John left Packard and joined GM after spending a lot of time learning from his illustrious boss, Forest McFarland.
DeLorean created numerous patented inventions for the business and was elevated to division head engineer in 1961.
DeLorean, at 40, had become the youngest division chief at GM.
His biggest accomplishment at "Pontiac" was possibly the "Pontiac GTO," the first muscle vehicle ever built.
