Tarun Tahiliani is a renowned fashion designer from India. In 1987, he and his wife Sailaja "Sal" Tahiliani founded Ensemble, India's first multi-designer store. Tahiliani Design studio was founded two years later. He is well renowned for his ability to combine Indian workmanship and textile tradition with fitted designs, and he is based in Delhi. His distinctive style is the combination of conventional beauty with cutting-edge design. Along the way, he also established a reputation as a designer of bridal apparel. In recent years, Tahiliani has undertaken several interior design projects.

Career:

In 1980: After attending Campion School in Mumbai, he went to The Doon School in Dehradun during his teens, earning a diploma there

In 1987: Along with Sailaja, he launched India's first multiple designer boutique, Ensemble, with Rohit Khosla's help.

In 1991: He relocated to New York to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) to study design.

In 1995: Tahiliani gained recognition after he designed an outfit for British heiress Jemima Khan to wear at her wedding to Imran Khan.

Achievements and Awards:

In 2002: He was honored with the Designer of the Year Award.

In 2004: Tahiliani got the Best Womenswear Couture Designer Award.

In 2007: He was honored as the Women's Wear Designer of the Year.
