Vicky Tiel, a well-known American fashion designer, was born in 1943 in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Tiel is recognised for her cutting-edge creations, which have adorned fashion runways, red carpets, and the wardrobes of stylish ladies all over the world. She grew up in Paris, France, and Chevy Chase, Maryland.

When she was just 17, Tiel started her career in fashion by designing and selling clothing. Before going to the Parsons School of Design in New York City, she spent a year as a student at Boston University.
After finishing school, she decided to move to Paris. A city full of dreams and opportunity for any aspiring fashion designer.

Before opening her own fashion house in 1969, Tiel worked in Paris for a number of renowned designers, including Jacques Estérel and Jean Patou.
Elizabeth Taylor, who wore one of Tiel's creations on her seventh wedding to Richard Burton, was one of the era's most fashionable elite, and she soon won their favour.
As her brand gained recognition, she in the 1980s diversified it by adding a number of apparel lines and accessories.
Tiel did more than design, she also had a knack for writing. In fact, two of her books “The Ultimate Woman” and “It’s All About the Dress” even hit the best-selling mark. It doesn't stop there, Tiel was also a guest on multiple talk shows including Oprah Today and The View.

Tiel was awarded many times for her accomplishments in the fashion sector. In 1998, she received the French Legion of Merit, which is the highest medal a civilian can earn from the French government. Then later down the line, in 2016, she was also admitted into the American Council of Fashion Designers.
