Chanda Kochhar was ICICI Bank's managing director and CEO. She is well-known for her contributions to retail banking in India. Kochhar grew up in the Rajasthan city of Jodhpur. Chanda attended St. Angela Sophia School. She later earned a B.Com from Jai Hind College in Mumbai. Kochhar went on to study cost accounting at ICAI before graduating with a Master's degree from Mumbai's JBIMS. She was awarded the Wockhart Gold Medal for her excellence work.

Careers:

In 1984: Chanda Kochhar began her career at ICICI as a management trainee.

In 1998: Mrs. Kochhar was appointed General Manager and CEO of ICICI Bank.

In 1994: Kochhar has been promoted to the position of assistant general manager.

In 1998: Chanda was promoted to General Manager and was in charge of ICICI Bank's major clientele.

In 2001: Chanda was appointed executive director.

In 2006: Kochhar has been appointed as ICICI Bank's deputy managing director.

In 2007: Kochhar was in charge of the bank's international and corporate operations.
