Angela Jean Ahrendts was born on June 7, 1960. A business woman who previously served as Apple Inc.'s senior vice president of retail. During her tenure at Burberry, she served as CEO from 2006 to 2014. Ahrendts joined Apple in 2014 after leaving Burberry. Forbes ranked Ahrendts 25th among the world's most powerful women, BBC Radio Four's Woman's Hour 100 Power List ranked her 9th, and Fortune magazine listed her 29th on its list of the world's most powerful women in 2014. 1989: Ahrendts became a wholesale and licensing executive at Donna Karan International after working for bra maker Warnaco.
Henri Bendel hired her in 1996 to expand its stores into 50 new markets, but two years later, the board canceled the project.
A vice president of corporate merchandising and design at Fifth & Pacific Companies, she joined the company in 1998.
Her responsibilities included merchandising the group's 20-plus brands as senior vice president of corporate merchandising and group president in 2001
