Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson is a well-known businessman. He was born on 18 July 1950. In addition to being a business magnate, Richard is a commercial astronaut and entrepreneur. He is the founder of Virgin Group. Branson expressed an interest in becoming an entrepreneur at an early age. As early as 1970, he established a mail-order record business. Virgin Records - later known as Virgin Megastores - was his record store chain. In the 1980s, Branson expanded the Virgin Records label and Virgin Atlantic airline under his Virgin brand.

• 1966: Branson started his first business venture, a student magazine called "Student," which he used to fund his other ventures.
• 1970: Branson established the Virgin Mail Order Record Company, which later became Virgin Records. The label signed successful artists such as the Sex Pistols, Culture Club, and the Rolling Stones.
