Jeffrey Gundlach was born in New York on October 30th, 1959. His parents are Carol and Arthur. The American investor and businessman is the CEO and founder of an investment firm called DoubleLine Capital LP. To further his education he attended Dartmouth College where he majored in math and philosophy. Eventually graduating with a summa cum laude in 1981. He then went off to Yale University to pursue a Ph.D. in mathematics but decided it wasn’t for him and dropped out.

• Gundlach was the head of TCW Total Return Bond Fund, which had $9.3 billion in it. In 2009, he was fired by TCW.
• After his firing, Gundlach founded Doubleline shortly after in the same year.
• His co-manager for the TCW Total Return bond fund was Phil Barach.
• On March 10, 2011, Gundlach got rid of 55% of his personal shares in municipal bonds.
• He’s an expert when it comes to investing and other ventures. Specifically with bonds and debt related areas.
