Leonard Alan Lauder was born on March 19, 1933, is an American businessman, philanthropist, and art collector. His brother, Ronald Lauder, and he are the sole heirs to the Estée Lauder Companies cosmetics fortune that their parents, Estée Lauder and Joseph Lauder, founded in 1946. Having served as CEO until 1999, Lauder is now chairman emeritus of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. In his capacity as CEO, MAC Cosmetics, Aveda, Bobbi Brown, and La Mer were acquired by the company. In addition, Lauder donated his collection of Cubist art to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2013.
