Steven Anthony Ballmer is a wealthy American investor and businessman who presided as Microsoft's CEO from 2000 to 2014. He is the real owner of the National Basketball Association's Los Angeles Clippers (NBA). His personal wealth is estimated by Bloomberg Billionaires Index to be over $91 billion as of September 2022, ranking him the ninth-richest person on Earth. Following his graduation from Stanford University's MBA programme, Ballmer was employed by Bill Gates at Microsoft in 1980. On January 13, 2000, he took over as CEO, succeeding Gates as president in the process.

In 1980: Ballmer became Gates' first business manager and Microsoft's 30th employee.

In 2000: The CEO position was officially given to Ballmer.
