Henry Cheng is honoring his father's legacy by leading the New World business empire. His company, New World, operates in the property, retail, and hospitality sectors. Cheng Yu-tung is the son of legendary business leader Cheng Yu-tung. He is the chairman and executive director of New World Development, NWS Holdings, and Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group; he became chairman in 2012 after first becoming a director in 1972. He also served as a non-executive director on the board of HKR International and Hang Seng Bank. In addition, his participation on the standing committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference earned him the Grand Bauhinia Medal in 2017.
